The Cardinal McIntyre Assembly was in the holiday spirit last month when it hosted it’s 2nd Annual Christmas Dinner Dance to honor SK Richard H. Bejune. It was a festive evening with entertainment provided by the Carmen Frasca band.
Money raised by this soiree goes to fund the “Richard H. Bejune Memorial Fund”. The fund is a new program that was developed in order to award a deserving young man $500.00 to help him make the transition from Rancho San Antonio.
Last years recipient was Francisco Gutierrez, Francisco is studying to be an auto mechanic at Pierce College and said he would use some of the money to help pay for some tools that he needs.
Many thanks and appreciation to David Shepstone , his son Willie and new 4th degree Sir Knight Joe Stockert for cooking such a wonderful meal. And lets not forget the many volunteers who helped prep, setup, serve, and cleanup after the event.
The dinner was successful with ticket sales tallied at $2662.00. After subtracting our expenses the net profit to the fund will be approximately $800.00.
We are pleased that we are now able to provide support to the young men at Rancho San Antonio, and we look forward to awarding our second check sometime in June of this year at our Past Faithful Navigator dinner.
Mark your calendars, the next Christmas Dinner Dance will be held Saturday December 14, 2013 hope to see you there.
